One of the
biggest misses of the night was Helena Bonham
Carter. Her off-the-shoulder, tea-length blue satin
gown was fine but her bed-head hair and clunky white
shoes were not.
Lessons from the Edge of the Carpet : Perfect color
for brown-haired girls like Ms. Bonham. And we
actually would have liked the dress had it been more
of a gown than a cocktail dress. The drape appears
strained, almost as if part of the dress got caught
between her legs as she was getting out of the limo.
That said, it actually might have worked if she had
taken care to have her hair done in a style that was
more structured, in opposition to the slouchiness of
the dress. Her shoes: exchange little girl whities
for neutral toned heels.
