You will need
Covered elastic band
Mousse
Hairspray
Hairpins

Step by Step

1. Apply a palm-full of mousse to dry hair. Distribute evenly from the roots to the ends.

2. Brush hair back behind the ears. Take a small section of hair on one side of your head, just above your ear and divide into two strands. Twist the two strands together while aiming towards the back of the head. When you get to the end, secure with a hairpin.

3. Repeat this on the other side and secure with a hairpin as well.

4. Now with practice, this part will become easy. Sweep all of your hair upwards and towards the back of your head along with the two twisted strands. Take the entire thickness of hair and secure into a ponytail.

5. Carefully fan out your hair to hang down evenly around the ponytail.

6. Decorate with flowered hairpins to give extra hold to the side twists.

7. Spray with a light mist of hairspray.

Variation: If you have a little time to spare, try this style, but instead of creating a ponytail, make a braid with each section of hair and secure with a ponytail band at the nape of the head. Clip on a pretty bow at the very bottom of the braid for a chic look.

Tip: If you need more hold, don’t use more mousse. It will make your hair dull. Instead, use a mousse labeled extra-hold, or super-hold.

Create-a-Look
This updo lends itself to the funky, creative look. It looks great with funky earrings, or beads.
